We'll be climbing the Hotlum-Bolam Ridge route of Mt Shasta. (Trip-report below)

NOTE: You must have the required items listed below and the experience to use them to participate in this event. You must have experience in self-arrest technique. Although this is a non-technical climb and considered an "intermediate" route, there is steep snow-climbing and possible areas of ice that would be potentially hazardous to the inexperienced.

Read the gear list closely and please DO NOT sign up for this event if you have never used crampons and ice axe in alpine conditions.

We will do a gear check prior to leaving Sacramento, and at trailhead for those meeting us there.

A high-clearance vehicle is highly recommended for the road leading to the Northcamp Trailhead.

Our Sacramento group will be meeting at 6:30am on Saturday morning, 7/6, at 1450 Expo Parkway in Sacramento.  We will carpool in two vehicles to Fifth Season in the town of Shasta to obtain our summit passes, and then on to the trailhead.

We'll begin the approach from Northcamp Trailhead approximately 1:30pm with permits.

Arrive at Marine Camp approximately 5:30 pm and set up camp. (Sunset is 8:45pm)

Begin summit attempt with an Alpine Start at 2:30am Sunday morning, 7/7.

Summit at daybreak (Sunrise is 5:43am), descend to break down camp, return to trailhead and head back to Sacramento.
